Bridal Dress

One of my first modules when I started in second year  in HND Fashion Technology was Bridal.
In this module, I learned to extend a bodice into a dress, and tailor fit the pattern to a dummy.
This required me to think in 3D and 2D at the same time

I went for a simple rock star looking dress with a deep V neck, I love cat suits, and that was the idea I was looking to do but in a dress form, I wanted to keep it fun!
so added an extra flare at the bottom with a nice bit of toile with flowers attached I also cut out flowers very delicately and put it all around the garment to give it the feel of blossoms following from a tree.

close up at home of the dress - and a photo of it being displayed at our campus display.

This is the garment before it was made up, cut out and sewn together in Satin, and the lining is the same but bagged out.  (sewn right side to right side and turned inside out.   The hard part to sew up was the sleeves but alot of the issues I had were sorted when I could visualise what I needed to do.

I'm still new to this and if you'd like me to go into any details of pattern cutting or anything else please let me know!
